At the SJPC, we are dedicated to supporting and empowering transgender individuals by
providing accessible, affirming resources and services.
The San Joaquin Pride Center provides the TRANSform monthly peer and social
groups for our transgender community members to connect, share experiences,
and build a social support system.
Social Groups (all ages)

Youth Peer Support Group (under 18)
4th Thursday every month 4-5PM
Adult Peer Support Group (18+)

The TRANSform groups are open to ALL who fall under the Transgender
umbrella. This includes binary, nonbinary, and non-conforming identities,
as well as those who are questioning their gender.
Name and gender marker changes involve legally updating a person’s name and/or the gender listed on official documents like driver’s licenses, passports, and birth certificates to better align with their gender identity.
For many transgender individuals, having accurate documents is a vital step in living authentically and navigating the world with greater confidence and respect.
Before we jump in, here’s a few things to consider.
You’ve considered every question and scenario, and you’ve decided on a name that fits you perfectly.
So what now?
The whole name change process can be extremely long, frustrating, and overwhelming. It can sometimes take up to several months to fully complete.
Take a deep breath, and don’t get discouraged!
We have staff that are trained to complete legal name and gender marker change paperwork, and are knowledgeable about the name change process. You can make a free appointment to get your paperwork started.
Chest Binders are garments that are intended to compress breast tissue in order to create a flatter, more masculine appearance.
This is called Binding, or Chest Binding.
Gaffs or Tucking Underwear are garments meant to help minimize the appearance of a crotch bulge and can help transfeminine women or anyone with a penis who is looking to achieve a smoother, more affirming appearance of their pelvic area. This is called Tucking.
Packers prosthetic or other object placed inside someone’s pants to create a bulge and achieve the look and feel of having a penis. This is called Packing.
Breast Forms are prosthetic breasts that some transfeminine and gender non-conforming folks choose to wear underneath their day-to-day clothing.
When done properly with high quality and well-fitting garments, chest binding, tucking, packing, and wearing breast forms are safe and effective ways to help relieve gender dysphoria.
Are you in need of gender-affirming garments such as a chest binder, tucking underwear, packer, or breast forms?
